Quest Award

Quest RDA had an amazing day at the South East Regional Conference on Wednesday 18th October 2017.

Quest scooped a record five awards including the prestigious and most sort after Buchan Bobby Trophy! Quest receive the Buchan Bobby Trophy for the best group in the SE Region in 2017
Pauline Lane from the Regional committee said at the South East Regional Conference just before the trophy was presented: "The Buchan Bobby Trophy is a prestigious award given by the Regional Committee to a group who has done outstanding work during the year, or even over several years. As you can imagine it is extremely difficult to select one group when the SE has so many groups doing outstanding work, it may be not just one thing but a lot of little things making up a whole.
This group chosen this year has had many challenges over the years. Personnel changes, shortage of coaches, shortage of volunteers, aging ponies. They are not unique problems but this group has met each one with enthusiasm and determination and as a result they now have a strong and energetic group.
They have an active fundraising committee who arrange a variety of interesting events throughout the year. These are a really good way of thanking helpers, raising awareness of the group in the area and building a great team spirit. They have enjoyed some excellent sponsorship deals because of this.
The group has a strong social media presence and hardly a week goes by when they don’t celebrate a rider’s achievements or publicly thank volunteers. Again, a great way of raising awareness and showing volunteers they are valued.
The result of having such a strong team means that their riders are getting more from their riding experience and enjoying more opportunities to shine.
So, it is with enormous pride and delight I can announce that the winner of the Buchan Bobby Award 2017 is Quest RDA

Jake was posthumously awarded a special rosette in recognition for all he did for our Quest riders over the years (pictured left with Zac). Sadly Jake is no longer with us, he passed away recently after short retirement.

Quest rider, Bonnie (pictured on the right at one of her riding sessions), was also recognised for the progress she has made whilst riding with Quest and was awarded a special trophy. Bonnie wasn't present at the awards, so her trophy will be presented to her at a later date.
