Sponsored Ride

2016  Sponsored Ride

On Sunday 16th October Quest held another successful Sponsored Ride on Chobham Common. This is a big fundraiser for Quest and we do really appreciate everyone's support, enabling us to continue helping children and adults with disabilities and special needs to experience the joys of horse riding. Despite the rain at the start of the day, we were thrilled to see 125 riders complete the 2, 5 or 12 mile trails. And when the sun came out, it was lovely to see so many of you enjoying the other activities at the Bisley and Sandown Chase Pony Club field, all of which contributed to a fantastic fundraising total.
We are very grateful for these funds which will go directly to provide riding opportunities for disabled children and young people, specifically for the upkeep of our wonderful ponies – Hunky, Jake, Bassett, Ben and Magic. We were delighted that eight Quest riders were able to take part in the Sponsored ride completing 2 mile trail, you can see some pictures on our Facebook page at Quest RDA Group.

We particularly want to thank everyone who took part for your sponsorship effort this year. The amount of sponsorship raised exceeds previous years by a considerable amount so please pass on our thanks to your family and friends for their generosity. We have a waiting list of children with a variety of disabilities and special needs children who would benefit enormously from Quest RDA’s sessions and we really appreciate every pound that helps us towards our goal of accommodating their needs.

We were very excited to welcome “Teddy the Shetland” at the pony club field to help us with our fundraising. Teddy particularly enjoyed meeting our Quest riders and their families. Teddy will be helping us at some events in the future-watch this space!

The Sponsored Ride could not take place without the help of many people. An enormous THANK YOU to:

· Our army of volunteers who give up their time to set up, steward the routes, dispense refreshments, make sure the road crossings are safe and provide a reassuring presence throughout

· Our dedicated committee who spend endless hours helping with the organisation in advance and on the day

· Friends and family of our committee who are roped in to help whatever the weather from early morning to late evening

· Bisley and Sandown Chase Pony Club and Jean Shipp for allowing us use of the field and the facilities

· Mr Higgins and family for allowing us access across their farm en route back from the Common

· Our sponsors – Rokers, Mr and Mrs Rickwood and Ruth Herd – for their generous contributions.

· Padblocks and JD Printing Services for printing our flyers and signs.
